A refreshing new outlook on Macbook Pro with the Apple M1 chip. Quick Impressions

I’m not sure where to start with my first impressions of using this laptop. I can certainly say that hands off this is probably one of the best Macbook Pro Apple has delivered so far.

There’s certainly absolutely nothing for me to write home about the operative system. It’s not as exciting as using Windows 11. You may mistake me for a troll after saying that but realize that I don’t think much of Apple’s look and feel eyecandy. So having said that there are only a few important things I care about in a laptop. The laptop performance, battery life, keyboard, and the display.

I would say that Apple has impressed me with this device. It barely gets hot at all especially if you are working all day on it or watching videos or doing a little bit of deploying with your docker images it just…. refreshing that my lap doesn’t have to suffer the heat from the previous models.

I’m not even kidding. A laptop that barely heats up is a dream come true for many people.

As someone using the 16-inch display I would say that there’s not a whole lot I can perceive by eye from the new retina display. Looks amazing as always and perhaps I’m not really looking hard enough.

The keyboard has been vastly improved. Like it feels 10000x times better than the old models. I’m also so glad they removed the useless touchbar. I don’t know who came up with that idea but it was just painfully awful.

What I can say is that for the battery? This CPU is so power-efficient that it just doesn’t do a whole lot to it. I used the laptop using visual studio code for like 4-5 hours and it barely hit 98-94% meaning this thing can go for a long long time if you are a programmer just be sure to turn off all the unneeded things.

Those are my super quick impressions. Anyone looking to buy this machine it is a 10 out of 10 from me. Delightful. Elegant. Sturdy, and no longer flimsy.
